Hear his classic New Orleans treatment of old standards (“Alice Blue Gown”, “Three Little Words”) as well as of W.C. Handy’s “Hesitating Blues”. Listen to his alto sax jump on “Mardi Gras” and “Them There Eyes”.
Sammy continues his internationally successful performing and recording career. These are important recordings from early in his career when he returned to the U.K. after several years in the U.S. where he studied with New Orleans clarinetist George Lewis.
